“For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] ‘Yes’. So through Him we say our amen to the glory of God”

2 Corinthians 1:20 (AMP).

All of His promises to us are yes and all we have to say is Amen.  Even Jesus used that truth in His journey to the cross. He had to trust that God’s promise of Him being glorified, of His death saving the world, would come to fruition.

“And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, ‘Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.’”

Luke 22:41-42 (ESV)

Christ suffered knowing and believing His Father’s Word that His glory would come after the fight. And you know what? He is now exalted at the right hand of the Father just as the Father had promised.

Jesus had to struggle in the same way we struggle with the good and perfect will of God. Even Jesus, knowing the good on the other side, had to come to grips with the truth of what was to come next. If our Lord had to grapple with His own journey and trust the Word of God how much more do we?

God had the dream of being reconciled to His children—us—through the death and resurrection of His Son.  Jesus knew the fate, grappled with it, and chose to follow through with God’s will knowing the suffering to come.  He looked past the cross counting it all joy.

What old way of thinking do you need to let die today and what dream do you need to resurrect with Christ? What truth about yourself and about the goodness of God do you need to take hold of and believe as you journey towards your dream?  His will is good towards us- let’s take that truth and run towards our dreams!
